Bummed Out

No comment - Post a comment

I am really kinda sad right now because I don’t know that I have a good enough portfolio to get me into RIT.  I am going through my stuff and am like crap, I really don’t know what I am doing because I really haven’t had any art classes.  So I was reading the guidelines that are in place and it said page layout.  I guess that means like a website page layout or magazine or newspaper or something.  I have done newspaper and decided real quick that I was going to whip up a magazine cover.  Who better to put on it than myself?

Yeah, I was looking at GQ on ColourLovers.  Get over it.

Does anyone know where this photo came from?  I love it a lot and if you know, please comment.  Thanks!

Brita Water Ad

I think this ad speaks for itself.  We should probably stop bottling water and put up more water fountains.

I was just going through some blogs and I believe I was on Computer Love when I found out about The Subtype Foundry.  Anyway its cool because they are giving away free fonts.  Get them while they are hot!  Below is a quick picture I made with the font called Quart.

I was looking at several popular design sites in the past few days and I suddenly drew a comparison.  I found it interesting that Lucy McRae and Bart Hess do to humans what TruthTag does to buildings: mutates them in the name of art.  Take a look at some of the pictures, draw your own comparisons.  If nothing else, both projects are really, really cool.

The Uno

No comment - Post a comment

I have stumbled across this several times on the web.  I thought that it was worth sharing because it was a novel concept.  I bet you it gets great gas mileage, but I don’t know how it would corner…

The Uno

On Twitter’s blog yesterday they have listed Twistori, calling it a “social experiment based on Twitter.”  I would like to think of it more as Twitter’s focused stream of conscious.  For those of you that don’t know what a stream of conscious is or don’t use your Twitter as one already (like me), it is the idea of writing whatever comes to your mind at that moment.  For example: hot dogs are pretty tasty, but I had pork for dinner.  Why is that girl talking to me on AIM?  I really wish that she was hotter, then I would go out with her.  Jellyfish are nice… et cetera, et cetera.

As you can see, it can go in any direction.  Twistori has focused this stream of concious in to several categories.  I noticed that this was also done at WeFeelFine; probably because the creator over laps.  However, WeFeelFine, explores more than just the six or so emotions that Twistori does; making it a much deeper, more satisfying stream of conscious.

So if you have a few minutes or are just nosey about what other people are feeling, then check both the sites out.  Here is a brief preview of Twistori - I stole the image off the Twitter blog.

You can buy beef, pork, ham, chicken, rabbit and various other meats in the super market.  What’s next?  I’ll show you whats next.  US Design Studios gives you the Whole Human.  If you liked the Whole Human, definitely check out this really cool detergent shirt, it will blow you away.

Here are two very clever ads for items that seem very ordinary.  I guess not.  Found at Calle 13, however the site is in Spanish.
