Wisdom is something I put a lot of thought towards.
Acquiring it mostly.
The Bible talks about wisdom a lot; especially in Proverbs.
It spells out how to get it and the reward for having it.

10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 For through me your days will be many,
and years will be added to your life.

Proverbs 9

In this lies the slippery slope for me.
Is it my desire to be like God or am I chasing worldly presence and things while seeking wisdom?
Am I going about it the right way or is my idea of wisdom tainted by sources of ill repute?
For there is something to be said for existentialism and transcendentalism.
But will I always find the correct truth?

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.

1 Corinthians 1:18-19

I feel frustrated. Only when I start getting into the word again and putting in the time do I have the desire to learn and the desire to use my intelligence that God has given me. I see this pattern being demonstrated over the last several semesters at school. I truly feel that it is a balance that needs to be met in order for me to function properly.

27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

1 Corinthians 1:27

I also notice that when I am not putting in the time and effort towards time with God, I am tripped up by the tiniest of things. Silly mistakes catch up to me and the things I say or do are not reflective of good, well thought out work.

Now, this is an ongoing process that is done over a lifetime and becomes more refined. You become more mature and grow as you persevere.

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
